Dear acclaimed writer,

How do you just do it ?

How do you sit down and whip up stories, which may or may not have happened, then stimulate people into the feelings you share ?

Well for me,

I feel alive…😂😂

{That is the song I am singing as I write now}

The WWF program has made me step out of my comfort zone and I cannot begin to explain how exhilarating the experience is to me !

And for now, I have some gist for you.

Are you sure you wanttu hear this gist ?

Are you really sure…😁

Ok nau ! Read on.

In this session, I will be shading a few things I have noticed I can do to my audience with my words.

To be more specific, I will be sharing some emotions people have felt reading my work and how we got the emotions surging.

[1] Happiness !

This for me is the main reason I write. I know many people experience their own fair share of doom and gloom on a daily basis so I try to provide some respite for them.

I employ the use of strategic words, smileys and some comic relief, ie, jokes to achieve this end.

Trust me, it works like magic ! 😎

(2) Excitement.

Adrenaline.

The unmistakeable rush of blood through dilated veins by the fast pumping of a revved up heart…😀

I have found this to be an invaluable tool for making people read my work and be engrossed from the beginning.

To achieve this, I get my mind to fly off and come up with scenarios that make my blood pump quickly, then I write…

(3) Sadness.

Basically, I achieve this by cooking up many mental pictures that could possibly make people really sad, and I write.

I also add some really saddening details like the death of the protagonist…😂

(4) surprise.

Everybody loves a healthy surprise once in a while so I have really come to adopt this.

I know it throws people off balance so I use it. I paint a scenario and just when my audience should be expecting something, boom ! I give them something else they never thought of.

They love referring to this as the twist !

(5) Then there is the thing I do not know what to call ; the rollercoaster feeling where the audience are not exactly sure they want to keep reading but also know they won’t be able to sleep if they do not finish reading the piece.😂

Can’t you just see how much fun writing can be ?

Dear famed writer, share your process with me. I am sure there is something we can be able to learn from ourselves.

How do you work your own magic ?
